Aaron Rodgers Ads Confusing, Geico Pig Polarizing According to Actuary Analysis of Insurance-Related Tweets

An actuary named Roosevelt Mosley Jr. who is a principal at Pinnacle Actuarial Resources analyzed tweets about major insurance companies and determined what the general public thought of some of the most prevalent ads airing today. Among his findings, he determined that the jealous wife arguing with her husband about "Jake from State Farm" at 3:00 in the morning is a well-liked ad, while the Geico pig is polarizing (which we already knew).

Insurance Ad of the Week: Geico's Extended 'Teaching Guinea Pigs to Row' Video

Last week I shared Geico's 'easier way to save' campaign that featured a variety of videos centered on someone who was trying to save money via absurd means. One of the stranger videos in the series involved a man who taught guinea pigs to generate electricity to power his computer by rowing a tiny boat. Geico has an extended version of the ad that's even more amusingly odd than the finished product.

Geico's 'Easier Way to Save' Campaign Highlights Absurd Ways to Save Money

You may have noticed a few of Geico's commercials from their 'Easier Way to Save' series which have been airing since last summer. The short videos range from a man trying to find a mate via karaoke instead of online dating, a couple who has adopted a "rescue panther" to protect their home, and a man who hired some teenage girls to ridicule him into losing weight.

Misprinted Geico Pig(gy) Bank Being Sold on eBay for $500.00

Maxwell the Pig, Geico’s pinwheel twirling, “wheeeee” squealing mascot, was recently immortalized in piggy bank form. Now, it turns out that the limited edition printing of just 3000 collectables may have resulted in an error. One savvy reseller is hoping to capitalize on a misprint showing their “durable poly resin” Maxwell keepsake (complete with sound chip!) was actually number 3010 of 3000.

Woman's Call to Insurance Company Produces Recording That Contradicts Arrest Report Filed by Officers

Two Florida police officers are under investigation for charging a woman with a felony for resisting arrest after her lawyers produced a recording of the call she had made with her insurance company right before the police confronted her. The driver, 60-year old Susan Mait, had stopped her SUV in the left lane of Royal Palm Boulevard in Coral Springs, Florida, due to two blown tires and was on the phone with a Geico insurance rep when police officers Nicole Stasnek and Derek Fernandes pulled up behind her to see what was wrong. An altercation ensued and Mait was arrested, but the officers' account of what happened varied considerably compared to the recording Geico had on file.
