Insurance Ad of the Week: Allstate's March Madness Mayhem Spots

After weeks of intense gameplay, upsets, questionable reffing, and burst bubbles, the 2012 NCAA men's basketball championship game has finally arrived. Tonight the Kentucky Wildcats will face off against the underdogs Kansas Jayhawks to determine which team is the best of the D-I bunch. Throughout the tournament fans have seen numerous ads from various insurance companies, but the Allstate Mayhem ads have stuck out among the competition, offering up short, amusing, basketball-themed spots to remind us that Allstate protects its customers from all sorts of "mayhem."

Allstate's chief marketing officer Mark LaNeve, the man responsible for the company's extremely successful "Mayhem" ad campaign, announced last month that he is resigning for personal reasons. LaNeve cited the need to take care of his twin autistic sons as the reason for his departure.

This past summer Allstate launched a new ad campaign dubbed "Mayhem." The role of "Mayhem" is played by veteran actor Dean Winters, who has appeared in Oz,” “Rescue Me,” and “30 Rock.” In his newest role he personifies pitfalls like collisions and storm damage that can befall drivers.
