Allstate's 'Mayhem' is Everywhere

This past summer Allstate launched a new ad campaign dubbed "Mayhem." The role of "Mayhem" is played by veteran actor Dean Winters, who has appeared in Oz,” “Rescue Me,” and “30 Rock.” In his newest role he personifies pitfalls like collisions and storm damage that can befall drivers.

In this, one of the more amusing ads, Mayhem is standing at the side of a country road in the night. "I'm a wild deer," he says, and walks out in front of an oncoming car.

The new campaign is a departure from its "in good hands" spots that feature the friendly face of actor Dennis Haysbert. Haysbert has been the spokesperson for Allstate since 2003. Allstate spends an estimate $250 million in advertising a year, behind only GIECO and Progressive, which means we'll likely have a lot of "Mayhem" in our future.
