Apparently This Driver Doesn't Feel Nationwide is On His Side

I came across this amusing picture on reddit. Looks like someone was out for a drive and came behind a car who decided to have a little fun with the "Nationwide is on your side" slogan/jingle for Nationwide Auto Insurance:
I'm assuming the joke here is that Nationwide was on the side of the insured party who rear-ended the Acura but obviously not on the side of the guy who was rear-ended. A reddit user chimed in with this potential explanation:
I work for Nationwide Insurance and have to wonder what inspired that message. Looks like their prior claim was a straight rear ender and NC is a Contrib State, meaning that likely he had no negligence and was paid 100% for the dmgs to that vehicle. Must have been the injury claim that bothered them.
It's very peculiar as to what this driver's issue is with Nationwide, but apparently he's miffed enough to drive his wrecked car around with the message on the crumpled trunk. All I know is that clearly this Acura driver isn't insured through Allstate because otherwise he'd have been protected from mayhem like that...(kidding).
