Protect Yourself Against the Undead with Zombie Insurance
Society has been obsessed with zombies for the past four decades, starting with George Romero's Night of the Living Dead film right up to the popularity of AMC's The Walking Dead TV show, Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead videogame series, and the Plants vs. Zombies phone app. Now one cheeky entrepreneur has taken the zombie craze one step further and is offering an insurancey policy for protection against a catastrophic undead apocalypse.

Sam Cooper created My Zombie Insurance, which offers fake insurance policies to protect against damage inflicted by the hordes of undead should a deadly virus break out and spread across mankind. For a one-time fee of $9.99 (a discount from the regular price of $12.95), you receive an insurance card, a proof of insurance certificate, and a window decal. The fee guarantees coverage for life, making it quite possibly the most affordable insurance plan on the planet.
My Zombie Insurance compares themselves to flood coverage, which some people buy in addition to their regular insurance because some policies don't cover natural disasters. Considering most insurance policies don't include zombie invasions (at least we don't think...), MZI offers the additional coverage for peace of mind and to protect you from the havoc the undead can wreak.
Unfortunately, MZI only covers damage to physical property (house, car, personal effects) and not to people--they say that's what health insurance is for. Nonetheless, ten bucks seems like a great deal for insurance that acts as additional car and home protection, because after seeing countless zombie films and playing tons of undead-themed video games, I know how messy the zombie apocalypse can get. Those shufflers simply have no respect for your belongings, and don't get me started with the looters.
In all seriousness, My Zombie Insurance does have a disclaimer pointing out that the site doesn't actually provide real insurance coverage considering zombies don't actually exist. Still, you can buy a "policy" as a gag gift or simply because you're a fan of the zombie genre and think it's a funny, entertaining concept. On the other hand, you can never be too careful, so maybe you should buy a policy just in case...you never know if you'll end up needing it someday.
