Nevada Could Make Self-Driving Cars a Reality

Yesterday the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles' Legislation Commission approved regulations allowing self-driving vehiclesapproved regulations allowing self-driving vehicles in the state. These regulations were a result of a bill passed in June 2011 that required the DMV to draft up some guidelines regarding self-driving cars. This milestone separates Nevada from the rest of the United States as the first state in the country to approve this new form of technology.

South Carolina Pushing Bill That Would Tow Cars with No Proof of Insurance

South Carolina has proposed a bill that would tow the vehicles of drivers who don't have car insurance coveragebill that would tow the vehicles of drivers who don't have car insurance coverage. If an uninsured driver got pulled over by police for any reason, the bill would require police officers to impound the vehicle and the driver would have to pay a $350 fine plus any costs associated with towing and impounding his or her car.

Should Universities Require Their Students to Have Health Insurance?

As the health debate continues on, universities have entered the mix with some controversial decisions of their own. Michigan State University is the latest school to begin requiring their students to have some form of health insurance coveragebegin requiring their students to have some form of health insurance coverage. If a student doesn't have a policy in place, the university will enroll him or her in an Aetna plan that would cost the student $1,500 for the school year.

Petplan Pet Insurance conducted an online survey from over 6,000 pet owners about how they'll be celebrating Valentine's Day next week, and 60% said they'd "rather receive Valentine's Day kisses from their four-legged, furry friendsrather receive Valentine's Day kisses from their four-legged, furry friends than their two-legged sweethearts." Ouch. Some people really love their pets.
